Rubber
Nitrile rubber (NBR) is a synthetic rubber copolymer of acrylonitrile (AN) and butadiene (BD) that is produced in an emulsion polymerization system. In a polymerization vessel, various ingredients are reacted to yield a polymer latex that is coagulated, dried, and compressed into bales. NBR is used in the healthcare and cleaning industry to make non-latex gloves;in the automotive and aeronautical industries, NBR is used to make fuel and oil handling hoses, oil seals, transmission belts, O-rings, gaskets, and grommets. Nitrile rubber is also used as cable jacketing and in the preparation of adhesives and shoe soles.
