Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS), is a common thermoplastic used to create light-weight, inflexible products such as plastic piping, musical instruments (recorders and clarinets), golf club heads, computers,cell phones, automotive body parts, protective headgear, kitchen appliances, and toys (e.g. Legos). Acrylonitrile is also employed as a comonomer to form other plastics such as styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) and acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA).
